Report: Anne Gorke A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

We were very impressed by Anne Gorke’s show. The German new comer designer’s collection was full of simplicity with a grungy twist: We saw classic, feminin shapes and fabrics in simple, pure colors such as black, white, grey, blue and champagne.

But that’s nothing special.

So here comes the Gorke-effect: Take some all-time favorites like little black jackets, silk blouses and tulip-shaped skirts on one hand and modern classics like jersey, and suit coats on the other hand. Now mix with eye-catching details like transparency, beautiful pleats, stockings (choose some red ones, too!) and low-cut backs. And now as the cherry on top, add a hint of 90s grunge: Doc Martens and biker shoes will do!

Serve on beautiful models and decorate them with classic hairdos and black nailpolish (oh yes, that’s a grunge element, too!) Et viola: A stunning and very wearable aw 13 collection.

Merci, Miss Gorke!

Report: 3Zehn A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

Fashion Label 3zehn took us on a journey to the early 60s right in the Mercedes Benz Fashion tent - the setting with a vintage record player prepared the guests on what came right afterwards: Pretty much an ode to femininity and women themselves, the collection consisted of hourglass-shapes, pencil skirts, body-hugging dresses which reminded us a lot of Audrey Hepburn.

A highlight was a little dance performance by one of the models which revealed a raunchy night-club like atmosphere. What I found cute in particular were the little tiaras, some of the models wore. All in all the perfect looks for feminine and lady-like women!

Report: Marcel Ostertag A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

Marcel Ostertag’s A/W 13 collection was inspired by Scotland and his muse, Ludmilla Burns. Besides the obligatory tartan we saw feminine looks in silky and metallic fabrics but combined with very modern shapes like biker jackets. The dominant colors were blue, green, grey, turquoise and red. Ostertag showed us an inspiring mix of fabrics, patterns and styles. We loved his digital prints, peplum details, a metallic trench coat and how all of the looks had that Scottish touch, revealed through the almost omnipresent gloves, the coats and classic scotch elements, such as the tartan.

My personal highlight of the collection was a very special sequined fabric sparkling in countless shades of green which reminded me especially of Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster. Well, if she really looks like that, I wonder why she’s still hiding in that lake…

Our last day in Berlin was amazing - we want to go back so badly! But now, let's take a look at our favorite outfits in Berlin - and Anna's first outfit post! Enjoy!

We loved her dark lips and transparent bag.

A real fur coat - so beautiful and incredibly soft!

Loved both their headpieces/hats.

These girls were absolutely adorable - and we loved both their jackets!

Her red hair looked amazing against her fur coat.

And this is what Anna wore: Jacket - Dorothée Schumacher, Pullover & Necklace - Zara, Boots - H&M, Pants - Cheap Monday, Bag - Cambridge Satchel Company.

Report: Barre Noire A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

Barre Noire lights up our next winter with bright colors, funky prints, sparkly details and cute little wings on hats!

The fashion show in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Show studio offered a great atmosphere that was caused by the great fashion but also the fun setting: The studio was turned into a 70s disco - the perfect setting for the 70s-inspired paisley prints. But the show was not at all old-fashioned: Barre Noire mixed the 70s elements with modern details, such as headphones provided by BabyG. All in all, a great show - we hope, next winter is going to be as fun as the Barre Noire show suggested!

Impressions: (Capsule) Collection

Anna, Kim and I went to (Capsule), an international tradeshow presented in Berlin, Paris, Las Vegas and New York City, where we saw a lot of interesting newcomer brands. At the show these brands had the opportunity to showcase their collcetions to prospective buyers and press people like us. We saw brands from all over the world which concentrate on men's and women's clothing and accessories and met a lot of very nice people. The atmosphere was really cool, friendly and laid back and over the home made daiquiris we had the chance to talk to some designers about their work and do some networking.

The brands we liked in particular will be presented on the blog very soon and as soon as Kim gets back to New York she will attend (Capsule) there to talk about possible collaborations with some of the labels. After the show we were escorted to an exclusive after party where we rocked out to 60s music. We have some photos of the show to give you an impression of (Capsule).

Report: Dimitri A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

By far our favorite show of fashion week - Dimitri nailed it once again!

Intriguing prints, luscious fur, crisp leather and soft chiffon - Dimitri offered everything a woman could want in his A/W 2013 collection and won his way into every attendant's heart. His designs looked so effortlessly elegant and yet young and fresh at the same time. His tailored jackets and edgy prints added just the right amount of coolness, whereas the rather cold color scheme of greys and blues is perfect for winter.

Report: Anja Gockel A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

Fun and feminine - these are the words that would describe Anja Gockel's A/W 2013 collection perfectly. Sending models of all sizes and styles over the runway in her colorful clothing, Gockel makes a powerful statement: All women are beautiful - especially in Anja Gockel designs. We agree and loved her show, especially the spectacular entrance of her wedding gown - that caused a big round of applause in the audience.

Report: Lena Hoschek A/W 2013 at MBFW Berlin

Now that we are back at home, we are going to start our little reports about the fashion shows we attended in Berlin during Fashion Week - we had a blast!

Our first show was Lena Hoschek - and we felt so honored to be able to attend! Next to celebrities like Johanna Klum and Bruce Darnell, we were kidnapped by Lena Hoschek and brought to Russia - a very rebellious and punk-y Russia. Accompanied by Russian rock, the models rocked braided hairstyles and folklore-inspired clothing: Every little detail from the music to the designs and the goody bags worked together and told a story of a fun youth in cold Russia. We absolutely loved it - Lena Hoschek sure knows how to captivate a crowd. Enjoy some pictures that we were able to take during the show - and a video of the finale!
