I'm inspired again by my very favourite Karl's latest coup, the Chanel
Cruise Collection 2013! Inspired by Marie Antoinette and her rival Mme
Du Barry, he celebrates an opulent rococo (or as he likes to say "Coco Rock") party with the whole Fashion
crowd in Chateau Versailles. The tents, the fountains, the castle- a
magic atmosphere is created here. I'm enchanted by the models' pastel
bobs, how Master Lagerfeld plays with contrasts is amazing: 18th century
gowns, silk, bows, ruffles, fluffy fabrics and cotton-candy colours
paired with creepers, denim, leather, masculin military styles, tough
black and the models' careless attitude. As accessories we're shown
floppy sunhats, fingerless gloves and artful bags. The message is clear:
"Awaken the princess in each one of you. 21st century princess, that
is..."
